Sign-in

Signing-in makes you a member and gives you access to FrontierNav's progress tracking and community features.

The sign-in modal dialogue.

Sign-in with email

To sign-in, click the "Sign-in" link on the bottom left of the navigation drawer. It will open the sign-in modal. Any feature which requires signing-in will also open this modal.

From the sign-in modal, enter your email address and a sign-in link will be sent to it. Go to your email inbox and open the link to sign in.

If you're on mobile, clicking the email link might not take you to the correct app. Sign in again from the correct app and instead of clicking the email link, copy it, go back to the app and paste it into the field under "Alternative method" to sign in.

If you receive quota errors when trying to sign-in with email, use a third-party. You can try signing in with email at a later date with the same third-party account's email to link them.

Sign-in with a third-party

Alternatively you can use one of the listed third-party identity providers to sign-in. While this can be convenient, make sure you know the email address tied to the account so you can sign-in with email when needed. Go to settings to find your email address.

If you sign-in with email or multiple third-parties which use the same email address, you will sign-in to the same account.

Create an account

The first time you sign-in, a new account will be created for your email automatically. If you use a third-party which provides a name, your display name will also be set to that name. You can customise your account further in settings.

Email verification

It's important that you have a verified email address to access your account, even when using third-party identity providers. Usually your email will be verified automatically when you sign in. If it hasn't, go to settings and verify it.

Sign-out

To sign-out, go to settings, scroll all the way down and double-click the "Sign-out" button.

Questions and Answers

Can I sign-in with a password?

Not at the moment. To avoid dealing with account hijacking, weak passwords, phishing and general malicious intent, FrontierNav avoids using passwords.

Can I sign-in with my Apple ID?

Not at the moment. "Sign in with Apple" requires a $99 per year developer account. Paying that much just to provide a convenience for Apple's own customers doesn't make sense right now. The next best thing is to sign-in with your iCloud email instead.
